Our first-ever LOVE Project outreach trip was a huge success. Our group of volunteer dentists and student dentists provided extractions, fillings, restorations, and oral hygiene instruction for children and adults in need in the cities of Guayaquil, Punta Blanca and Cuenca, seeing 164 patients and performing over 300 procedures. 8 dental students from Roseman University were joined by Dr. Villamar, a general dentist from New York and Dr. Joyce Lee from Atlanta. We performed extractions, fillings and oral hygiene instruction to the underserved populations of Ecuador. It was such a rewarding experience and we are deeply grateful to the dental supply companies, friends and family who made this trip financially possible. Each of our volunteers paid their own way to Ecuador but we did not have to purchase any dental supplies, as they were all generously donated! We learned a lot and have a some great ideas for next year to make it even better and to serve more patients. We are planning on traveling in February of 2016 check out our photo album under the MEDIA tab and see our photos! Our regularly scheduled November trip to distribute clothing, food and school supplies is still planned. Dates to come!
